The City Government of Davao, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), is now gathering documents to support the release of financial assistance to Cebu province.
“Ang financial assistance naa nako’y instruction na kuhaon na ang declarations sa state of calamity (For the financial assistance, I already received an instruction to collect declarations of state of calamity) ” Alfredo Baloran, CDRRMO head, said on Monday.
Baloran said that once gathered they will forward the documents to the local disaster council for recommendation and legislative approval.
Based on the usual amount provided as calamity assistance, the city allots Php 1,000,000 per province, Php 500, 000 per city, and Php 300,000 per municipality.
Baloran said based on the data they received, a total of five municipalities and one city are affected.
“As soon as possible ginapadali namo, kinahanglan sa tao sa hardly hit areas ang food, shelter (We are fast tracking this [financial assistance] as we saw that people in areas that are hit hard need food and shelter),” Baloran said.
