The Tagakpan Public Cemetery is among the top performing units of the Davao City Economic Enterprise (CEE) in 2025, collecting over P 3 million against a target of just P 700,000.

Maximo Macalipes Jr., CEE Manager, shared during the ISpeak Media Forum on Thursday that the Tagakpan Public Cemetery collected P 3,013,558.59, which led to an accomplishment rating of 430.5 percent.

The Tagakpan Public Cemetery, which reopened in 2024 following its rehabilitation, stands on a 2.3-hectares lot with a total of 564 units of compartmentalized niches, 560 ossuary units, 174 mass grave niches, a Muslim cemetery, open space for Muslim burial, a bone depository, public comfort rooms, two administrative buildings, and guard houses.

“The modernization has transformed the facility from a modest operation into a high-revenue generator, significantly exceeding its financial targets and setting a new standard for public service enterprises,” Stephen Lloyd G. Diong, CEE’s Public Cemetery Operations Officer-in-Charge, said in an interview.

“Post-rehabilitation data shows a sharp rise in burial availments, ossuary utilization, and niche renewals,” he highlighted.

Macalipes also shared that Ramon Magsaysay Park followed closely with an accomplishment rating of 141.5 percent, and the Calinan Public Market with 111.8 percent.

“The numbers for 2025 reflect the dedication and efficiency of our units across the city,” Macalipes said. CIO
