The City Cooperative and Development Office (CCDO) said it has a new training module on business continuity management recovery plans for coops.
Miraflor A. Trocio, CCDO Information and Education Training Division Head, said over Davao City Disaster Radio on Thursday said that the training is among the 15 free specialized training offered by the office.
“Kani nga training ni giprotektahan ani unsaon nimo ‘pag adunay kalamidad and adunay kakulian nga naapektuhan ang negosyo unsay imong buhaton para marecover or para maprotektahan ang financial capacity sa coop. Nindot ni sya nga module kay kini tudloan ang management ug mga opisyales unsaon pag protekta sa ilang financial labi na diha sa pagpadagan sa coop (This training focuses on protecting the cooperative by teaching then what to do in times of calamities and other challenges that affect the business—specifically, how to recover or protect the cooperative’s financial capacity. It is a good module because it teaches the management and officers how to safeguard their finances, especially in running the cooperative),” she said.
The training output is a plan for the coop on what to do during calamities, which form part of their annual and long term development plans.
She said that remaining 14 other specialized trainings offer focus on other important technical knowledge that the coop should have in order to be sustainable.
These include financial basic accounting for non-accountants, strategic planning, training on the proper procedures and many more.
Trocio invited cooperatives to visit their district offices to find out the training they offer for free.
“Kaning kinse libre nga specialized training mamili lang sila unsa ang ilang gusto pwede sila muduol sa amoa kay sa 11 ka administrative districts. Aduna mi officers as far as Paquibato Marilog, naay CDS didto nga mutabang sila (These fifteen free specialized trainings are open for them to choose from—whatever they prefer. They can approach us, we have officers in all 11 administrative districts. Even as far as Paquibato and Marilog, there are CDS officers there who will assist them),” she said, adding that the training can be conducted within the CCDO office or the coops may invite their speakers to the venue if their choice.
Trocio invited all coops that are interested to avail of the training as the DCCD is always ready and available to provide such service.
Trocio said that the office also provides mandatory training required for the issuance of certificates of compliance.
