Recognizing the grit and sacrifices of Dabawenyo young athletes who have carried the city’s pride in regional and national competitions, the City Government of Davao has established the Atong Taga-an og Oportunidad ang Nangandoy nga Atleta (ATO NA) Athletes’ Scholarship Program through Executive Order No. 15, Series of 2026.

EO No. 15, Series of 2026, was created to recognize the growing number of young athletes who have represented Davao in prestigious events such as the DAVRAA Meet and the Palarong Pambansa.

The ATO NA Scholarship bridges the gap by providing financial assistance of up to Php 25,000 every semester or beginning of an academic year, giving athletes the means to continue their studies while honing their skills in their chosen sports.

Applicants must be bonafide residents of Davao City for at least three years and enrolled in schools recognized by Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Alternative Learning System (ALS), or Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) within the city.

Junior and Senior High School applicants must be a graduate of any primary public or private schools in the city.

For Tertiary-level athletes, they must possess a good athletic record from the immediately preceding semesters or academic years and have notable achievements in sports competitions.

Candidates must also have represented Davao City in their respective sport and shown consistent participation in regional or national events within the last two years.

The scholarship shall be valid for the duration of the academic program, provided that the student-athlete maintains strict compliance with all academic, athletic, and conduct-related requirements.
