About 85 educational institutions, including representatives from the Department of Education(DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) joined a multi-sectoral security forum organized by the Public Security and Safety Office (PSSO) on June 19, 2026.
“Kini nga forum sa atong educational institutions nag discuss about bomb threat awareness nga dapat kabalo ang teachers nato unsaon pag address kung naay bomb threats sa schools (This forum for our educational institutions discussed bomb threat awareness, emphasizing that our teachers should know how to properly respond when there are bomb threats in schools),” PSSO Head Angel Sumagaysay said in an interview Monday.
He said that lectures also discussed protocols that do not require evacuation.
Meanwhile, Sumagaysay added that speakers from the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT) and the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 11 (RACU 11) also explained to the participants the flow of the communication on how to trace the caller.
“Gi-involve nato ang national agency, para naay direction kay always question mark sa teachers nga dili madakpan ang caller (We involved the national agencies to provide direction because teachers always had doubts about whether the caller could be identified or caught),” he added.
Meanwhile, aside from bombing, the forum was also attended by police station commanders, and discussed there was school security affecting and involving youth. CIO
