The Davao City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) will conduct a simultaneous free Anti-Rabies vaccination and castration for cats and dogs during the Rabies Awareness Month in March.
Dr. Gay Z. Pallar, Acting City Veterinarian, urged Dabawenyos anew to have their pets vaccinated against rabies, and avail of the free services offered by the CVO.
“Protektahan ang pamilya, pabakunahan ang alaga. Everyone is encouraged to avail of the services extended such as RABIES vaccination and castration to dogs and cats which is given for free,” she said.
Rabies is a viral, zoonotic disease that affects the central nervous system of mammals that can be prevented through vaccination.
In a bid to eliminate the disease in the city, the CVO leads several initiatives including Anti-Rabies vaccination and castration of animals that the public may avail for free.
In time for the Rabies Awareness Month, the office will conduct such activities as castration in Barangay Los Amigos on March 4; Anti-Rabies Vaccination in Barangay Centro Agdao on March 5; castration in Barangay Bago Gallera on March 6; Anti-Rabies Vaccination in Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay New Carmen, and Barangay Salaysay on March 9; Barangay Matina Aplaya. Barangay Dalag, and Barangay Tigatto on March 10; Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Barangay Suawan, Barangay San Isidro, and Barangay Paquibato Proper on March 11; a castration activity in Barangay Lizada on March 10; Rabies Vaccination in Barangay Subasta, Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay Tamugan, Barangay Tigatto, Barangay San Isidro, and Barangay Paquibato Proper on March 12; Barangay Subasta, Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay 11-B, Doña Vicenta, Barangay New Carmen, Barangay Bantol, and Barangay San Isidro on March 13; Barangay Matina Aplaya and Barangay Marilog Proper on March 16; Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay Marilog Proper, Barangay Tigatto, and Barangay Bankas Heights on March 17; Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay 18-B, Barangay Talandang, Barangay Marilog Proper, and Barangay Binugao on March 18; Barangay Biao Joaquin, Barangay Matina Aplaya, Barangay New Valencia, Barangay Tigatto, and Barangay Bayabas on March 19; Barangay Biao Joaquin and Barangay Matina Aplaya on March 20; Barangays Matina Aplaya and Talandang on March 23; Monteritz Classic Estate Magtuod, Barangay Talandang, Barangay Tigatto, and Barangay Pañalum on March 24; and Barangay Talandang on March 25.
The CVO also participates in caravan activities offering free services including the provision of Information and Education Campaign (IEC) materials to the public. CIO
