A total of 63 couple said their “I dos” and declared their vows of love during the Kasalan ng Barangay 2026 held at Barangay 76-A Bucana, Davao City on April 8, 2026.
The Kasalan ng Barangay is one of the City Government of Davao’s initiatives through the City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) to provide civil registration services to Dabawenyos.
Acting City Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, in his speech, reminded the couples to protect their families and nurture strong family foundations.
“Ayaw gyud pag away tungod sa kwarta nga muabot na mag pisikal namo. Bantayan ninyo permi inyong mga pamilya kay kita faithful man ta diri (Don’t ever fight over money that will eventually lead to physical fights. Always take care of your families because we are all faithful here),” he said.
The celebration was even made more memorable as each couple received groceries, kitchenware and gifts from the City Mayor’s Office and councilors as a token of support for their new beginnings.
Keanu Aclo and his wife, Irene, also expressed their gratitude to the city government for making the Kasalan ng Bayan possible, which has brought joy to their family as they prepare to welcome their first child.
“Nagpasalamat ko sa atoang Mayor, sa amoang kapitan og sa tanan gobyerno nga nagpahigayon ani. Kay kung wala sila, dili ni mahitabo ug nakahatag gyud ni og kalipay dria tanan sa amoa. Daghang salamat (I would like to also thank our Mayor, our Brarangay Captain, and all the government officials who made this happen. Because without them, this wouldn’t have happened and it truly brought happiness to all of us here. Thank you so much),” he added. CIO
