The City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) will continue its barangay and mall registration activities for the whole month of February, which was declared as National Registration Month.

CCRO RA 9048 In-Charge Orlando Alvaira told Madayaw on Friday that they will accept birth, marriage, and death registration in the barangays and malls.

“Ginapromote gyud nato nga importante ang birth certificate nato para sa application for abroad, school, and pag-apply sa trabaho (We promote the importance of having a birth certificate since it is required when you want to go abroad, for school requirements, and also in applying for work),” Alvaira said.

The mobile registration schedules are on February 10 in Barangay Bantol, Marilog District; February 11 in Barangay Datu Salumay and Barangay Bago Gallera;
February 12 in Barangay 5-A; February 13 in Barangay Gumalang;February 16 in Barangay Catalunan Grande; February 17 in Barangay 19-B; February 19 in Barangay 2-B;February 23- in Barangay Bago Aplaya; February 25-26 in Barangay Tapak; and February 26 in Barangay Matina Crossing and Barangay 21-C.

Mall tours in SM Ecoland and SM Lanang are set on February 16-22.

Schedules are also set in Bureau of Jail and Management and Penology (BJMP) facilities and schools. The CCRO also lined-up refresher courses for Non-Government Organizations, users forum and enhancement trainings.

Alvaira urged Dabawenyos to ensure on time registration, especially of births because late registration requires more documents.

“Ang consequences sa late registration mas lisud karon ang pag file og late registration, karon kay naa tay dungag na mga requirements (The consequences of late registration are that filing for late registration becomes more difficult, because we now have additional requirements),” he said.

To aid Dabawenyos in registering their documents, the CCRO continues its mobile registration drive and also organized teachers, barangay personnel, and IPs to assist in the process. CIO
