In line with its commitment to responsible governance and data protection, the City Government of Davao, through the Data Privacy Committee, successfully conducted the Refresher Course on Data Privacy Act and Data Breach Response and the Annual Training for Compliance Officers for Privacy (COPs) om May 14 –15 and May 26, 2026, respectively.
The series of training equipped participants with updated knowledge on Republic Act No. 10173, recent issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC), data breach response protocols, and best practices in safeguarding personal information. Through discussions, workshops, and practical exercises, participants were able to enhance their capacity to promote compliance and strengthen privacy protection measures within their respective offices.
The activities also reinforced the vital role of Compliance Officers for Privacy (COPs) and Data Breach Response Team (DBRT) members in ensuring the City Government’s continued adherence to data privacy standards and fostering a culture of accountability in public service.
As Davao City continues to embrace innovation and digital transformation, the Committee remains steadfast in advancing data governance initiatives that uphold the rights of data subjects and protect personal information.
