In celebration of the Civil Service Month, the City Government of Davao commenced its City Government Employees Celebration 2025 on September 1. The month-long event serves as a platform to foster camaraderie and unity among the employees.
Employee participation was enthusiastic, starting with a massive early morning fun run that drew a crowd of thousand. Hundreds more then filled the day with energy for the zumba session, cheerdance competition, and Mr. and Miss LGU contest.
Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, in a message read by Davao City Administrator Atty. Francis Mark Layog, said that the employees’ celebration provides a platform for growth and development, strengthening camaraderie and unity not only in sports but also in their respective fields of work.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the overall well-being of the employees through activities like sports.
“It is important that while we deliver the work that is expected of us in our respected offices, we also check on our overall health and well-being through various activities that allow us to look after our physical and mental health like sports,” Duterte said.
“We take this opportunity to honor all of you, the hardworking and dedicated employees, for your invaluable service and commitment towards our goal of progress in Davao City,” he added.
Finally, Layog reminded all sports fest participants to maintain sportsmanship and build connections throughout the tournament. CIO
