To further promote productivity and harmony in the workplace, the City Government of Davao reconstituted its Central Grievance Committee on Wednesday.
Through Executive Order No. 6, Series of 2026, the committee is mandated to develop and implement proactive measures to prevent grievances through employee assemblies, counseling, and other similar activities, ensuring good supervisor-employee relations and improved employee morale.
The committee is composed of two department heads, chosen through a general assembly or any mode of selection; 1st and 2nd level representatives of the recognized employees’ union; and the Bilis Action Partner.
The City Mayor or his duly authorized representative shall sit as the committee’s chairperson with the Head of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) as co-chair.
It is also the committee’s duty to conduct a continuing information drive on the grievance machinery among officials and employees, as well as conduct investigations and hearings within 10 working days from the receipt of a grievance and render a decision within five working days following the investigation.
The committee’s funding shall be sourced from the available funds of the city government, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
