Dabawenyos are urged to report suspected cases of overcharging or hoarding of fuel and basic commodities to the Davao City Reports amid the ongoing fuel crisis.

Lanticse said that during the first meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emergency Socioeconomic Crisis Response (IATF-CRISIS) on April 6, the city’s security cluster was instructed to intensify its monitoring of all illegal activities including hoarding and overcharging of fuel and basic commodities within the city’s jurisdiction.
“The IATF has also instructed the security cluster, which they are already doing, to intensify their monitoring of all illegal activities including hoarding and overcharging of fuel and basic commodities within the city’s jurisdiction covering both land and maritime movements,” he said.
He added that the city’s Price Coordinating Council is also continuously monitoring the price movement of fuel and basic commodities in the city to ensure that these remain compliant to the set price cap of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Dabawenyos are also urged to be more discerning and vigilant with the information on the current crisis situation provided on different platforms. The public is reminded to verify any news and information with reliable sources to avoid panic.
“Atoang gina-awhag ang atoang mga kaigsuonang Dabawenyo nga likayan ang pagpakatag og mga impormasyon nga makadala’g kabalaka (We are also urging Dabawenyos to avoid spreading information that may cause panic),” Lanticse added.
