The Davao City Fire District (DCFD) is urging all business owners and establishments to strictly comply with fire safety standards and maintain functional fire protection systems.

This is in line with Memorandum Circular No. 2024-024 of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – National Headquarters stating that starting July 22, 2025, the assessment and collection of Fire Safety Inspection Fees (FSIF) will no longer be included in the Business Tax Order of Payment issued by the LGU-Davao.

Frances Marie S. Sendrijas, FSINSP, Chief of the Public Information Unit, DCFD, said that it is important for business owners to comply with the requirements emphasizing that fire prevention begins with responsibility.

“We are reminding all business owners and establishments to strictly comply with our fire safety standards and maintain functional fire protection systems because this system can really save lives, even our businesses. Let’s stop fires before they start and together let’s protect our homes, businesses, and the whole Davao City,” she told Madayaw Davao over Davao City Disaster Radio on January 8, 2026.

Meanwhile, business owners are now required to register and process their FSIF directly through the official BFP online portal at https://fsis.e-bfp.com.

Reggie Joyce B. Roque, FO1, Fire Safety Enforcement Branch, DCFD, also encouraged business owners to comply with the requirements at least one month before expiration to provide ample time for document verification and corrections.

“Kung pwede po mag renew kayo at least a month before the expiration of your fire inspection certificate. Hindi yung parang a day before kasi icheck pa yung documents niyo if tama ba, atleast if a month before kayo mag apply, may ample time to check, if may kulang, mabalikan niyo pa. Hindi yung kailan yung deadline, doon pa kayo mag renew (Renew your fire inspection certificates at least one month before they expire. Because we still need to verify your paperwork to see if they’re complete so, at least apply a month in advance and if there’s something missing, you can come back. It’s not advisable to renew your application on the day of the deadline),” she added.

Sendrijas also assured that assistance in processing FSIC applications remains available at their one-stop shop or the nearest fire station.
