The City Government of Davao on Monday extended warm congratulations to working students of the City Government of Davao, who recently passed the 2025 Bar Examinations.

A total of eight employees received plaques of appreciation for their remarkable achievement in bringing honor, not only to their families but also to the entire City Government of Davao, citing their milestone as a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to continuing the tradition of excellence in serving Dabawenyos.

They are Maria Tessa Stephanie G. Capangpangan of the City Archives and Records Office; Mary Emilou Limpot of the City Treasurer’s Office; Yuri B. Partol of the Davao City Housing Office; Rona Marie T. Plana-Agulan of the City Planning and Development Office; Reina Gay E. Ledesma of the City Mayor’s Office; Alexa Danielle C. Dayanghirang and Kenneth Claire P. Ladera of the Sangguniang Panlungsod; and Janine Louise Mae Neñaria of the Business Bureau.

Davao City Administrator Atty. Francis Mark H. Layog praised the dedication and efforts that the new passers have put in to make their dreams work.

“All of these lawyers were working students, and I know for a fact daghan diri working student pud dili lang sa pang abogado, master’s, college, whatever it is. Kanang paningkamot sa working student dili gyud na para sa normal, dili na para sa ordinary; special na siya, and grabe nga dedication ang kinahanglan. So I would just like to congratulate all working students today. Mabuhay kayong lahat. (All of these lawyers were working students, and I know for a fact that many here are also working students—not only in law school, but in master’s programs, college, whatever it may be. The perseverance of a working student is truly not ordinary; it is something special and requires tremendous dedication. So I would just like to congratulate all working students today. Mabuhay kayong lahat),” Layog said.

Layog said that he can relate, as he was also once a working student and someone who knows how difficult it can be.

He challenged the graduates to pay it forward and help other working students.

“Support them and guide them—please mentor them,” Layog added. CIO
