Davao City is the best city to visit in the Philippines, according to the World Travel Index (WTI) report.
With a score of 75.48, Davao City ranked first in WTI’s best cities to visit in the Philippines. It is followed by Makati City with a score of 73.83, Puerto Princesa with a score of 73.57, Dumaguete with 73.23, Baguio with 72.75, Cebu City with 72.55, Iloilo with 70.39, Manila with 68.43, Legazpi City with 68.31, and Lapu-Lapu City with 68.09.
WTI is a unique platform that compiles and streamlines travel-related information from more than 100 trustworthy sources. It combines diverse reports, dispersed data, and intricate statistics into a unified, user-friendly interface.
Its evaluation, which rates approximately 3,000 global cities, is based on a comprehensive set of criteria. These include affordability factors like accommodation and dining, the quality of attractions, safety, and overall worth.
Davao City’s high ranking is attributed to its diverse appeal. The city boasts of numerous tourist destinations that highlight its vibrant culture, rich biodiversity, and stunning landscapes that offer adventure. This recognition is further supported by a significant upward trend in tourism. The city logged 897,406 tourist arrivals in 2022, which grew to 1,296,928 in 2023, and reached nearly 1.82 million in 2024.
