Davao City maintained its place among the country’s 10 largest provincial and highly urbanized city (HUC) economies in 2025 and the only economy outside Luzon on the list with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Php 601.68 billion at constant 2018 prices.

This is based on the 2025 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Friday, August 28, 2026, covering the economic performance of all 82 provinces and 33 HUCs in the Philippines.

The City of Davao ranked 10th among the largest provincial and HUC economies in terms of GDP level and share to the national GDP, accounting for 2.6 percent of the country’s total GDP in 2025. It also posted a 4.8 percent year-on-year economic growth during the period.

Davao City’s GDP also made it the leading HUC economy in both the Visayas and Mindanao, with its economic output substantially higher than other HUCs outside Luzon.

Meanwhile, Quezon City continued to have the largest share of the national GDP at 6.0 percent, followed by the City of Makati at 5.5 percent, Province of Laguna at 4.9 percent, and City of Manila at 4.6 percent. The PSA noted that these four economies were the only ones to reach a trillion-peso GDP in 2025.

The latest figures build on Davao City’s 2024 performance, when its economy grew by 7.9 percent and reached a GDP of Php 574.72 billion, which also ranked fifth among the 33 HUCs in terms of GDP share to the national economy, contributing 2.6 percent. CIO
