The City Government of Davao turned over 32 patrol vehicles, three vans, and 600 pieces of raincoats to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), as part of its commitment to peace, order, and efficient public service.
The vehicles will be distributed to various stations and DCPO units, ensuring sufficient police visibility and an efficient response for the security needs of Dabawenyos.
PCol. Mannan C. Muarip, DCPO’s Acting Chief, said that the new vehicles are significantly valuable in ensuring the security and welfare of Dabawenyos against criminalities.
“These resources will significantly enhance our mobility, readiness and operational efficiency, allowing our personnel to respond faster, safer, and more effectively rain or shine,” he said.
Davao City Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte, in a message read by Atty. Jonah Margarette F. Presto, emphasized the importance of enhanced mobility and operational readiness in preventing criminality in the city, and in maintaining peace and order that is felt, not only in the city center but in its borders as well
“We firmly believe that with enhanced mobility and operational readiness, we will further strengthen our collective capacity to prevent crime, maintain public order, and ensure peace and security that are felt not only in the city center but also in our remote barangays,” he said.
“May these resources serve as vital instruments to enable you, our security personnel, to perform your duties well and maintain the peace and order in our city,” Duterte added.
The mobility assets turned over to the DCPO serve as a testament to the city’s long-standing principle that what comes from Dabawenyos will always be given back to Dabawenyos. CIO
