In a bid to ensure that fees and charges imposed by the city are just and reasonable, the City Government of Davao reconstituted the Oversight Committee on the Revision of Fees and Charges for Davao City through Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2026.
In order to make sure that all impositions are in accordance with existing regulations, the committee, which was first established in 2022 through a separate executive order, is reconstituted to include other offices that collect fees and charges but were not initially included.
The committee is responsible for reviewing the rationale for fees and user charges imposed by the city government and the methodology for the determination of the fees schedules and rates.
It is also the committee’s mandate to gather data on the cost of delivering regulatory, service fees and charges, to compute the appropriate rates that will recover the cost using the Local Fees and Charges Toolkit.
The City Mayor will sit as the committee’s chairperson with the City Treasurer as the Vice Chairperson. The City Treasurer’s Office will also serve as the committee’s secretariat.
The Davao City Government acknowledges that in order to balance the cost of services provided for the regulation of business operations and ease of doing business, a reasonable framework must be periodically reviewed, adjusted, and adopted.
