The City Government of Davao on November 20, 2025, issued Executive Order No. 26, or “An Executive Order Constituting the Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Master Plan Study for Comprehensive Wastewater Management in Davao City.”
According to the EO, there is a need to create a PMU for the Master Plan Study for Comprehensive Wastewater Management in Davao City to effectively implement the goals of the project.
The City, with the assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and in partnership with the Davao City Water District (DCWD), is implementing the project the study to improve the sanitary environment and mitigate water pollution in the city through appropriate wastewater management, in line with the Septage and Sewerage Management Ordinance of Davao City.
The PMU for the Master Plan Study for Comprehensive Wastewater Management in Davao City shall have the City Mayor as chairperson and the City Administrator as vice chairperson. Its members include the City Engineer’s Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Health Office, City Legal Office, City Planning and Development Office, Davao City Housing Office, Davao City Water District, and the Interim Office of the City Architect.
The PMU is primarily tasked to properly plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor the implementation of the Master Plan Study for Comprehensive Wastewater Management in Davao City. It shall conduct meetings whenever necessary.
PMU member offices shall perform their respective duties and responsibilities as stated in the EO.
