A total of 148 public and private sectors were recognized on Friday during the Pasidungog 2026: Garbo sa Davao for their significant contributions to business, social development, innovation, education, and community service, which have helped build Davao City into what it is today.

“The progress of our city has never been the work of the City Government alone. It is made possible through the strong partnership between the public and private sectors, through individuals and organizations who generously shared their time, resources, expertise, and passion in the service of Davao,” April Marie Dayap, Head of the Davao City Investment Promotion Center, said.
Among the lauded members of the community are the Top 10 Business Tax Payers of the City including the Davao Light and Power Company, LTS Retail Specialists, Mindanao Shopping Destination Corporation, Therma South Inc., and Mercury Drug Corporation; the Top 10 Real Property Tax Payers of the city including Therma South Inc., Davao Union Cement Corp., Accendo Commercial Corp., Southernpoint Properties Corp., and SM Prime Holdings; partners in business development, economic and development management, cooperative development, education, social services, urban infrastructure, and housing and resettlement, infrastructure, traffic management, public safety, disaster and crisis response, animal health, welfare, and productivity, environment and solid waste management, and beautification, culture and the arts, sports development, tourism, and the four everyday Dabawenyos.

“We honor you and we recognize you for having become Davao City’s indispensable partners. Your contributions whether in business, social development, innovation, education, or community service has helped strengthen our institutions, expand opportunities for our people, and improve the quality of the life of every Dabawenyo,” Dayap said.

“Because of partners like you, Davao City continues to thrive as a city defined by resilience, cooperation, and shared prosperity,” she added.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, in a message read by Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte, extended his gratitude to the awardees for their unceasing support as the city continues to move forward.

“To all the awardees, congratulations ug daghang salamat kaninyong tanan for your serious dedication and strong commitment to providing vital socioeconomic support, promoting inclusive and culture-based community engagement, and carrying out social support services to sustain our city’s growth and development,” he said.
Duterte also emphasized that the continued cooperation between the public and private sectors strengthens the city’s linkages, improves services for communities, attracts more investors, and creates more job opportunities that benefit the holistic development and well-being of Dabawenyos.

“Hinaot nga padayon kita nga magtinabangay isip usa ka hiniusang komunidad alang sa kaayohan ug kalamboan sa atong pinalanggang dakbayan sa Dabaw (May we continue to work together as one community for the growth and development of our beloved Davao City),” he said. CIO
