The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) on Monday urged family members of senior citizens to update their address in case they have moved to facilitate payout of their financial assistance.

CSWDO Head Julie P. Dayaday told Davao City Disaster Radio that change of residence of senior citizens must be recorded with the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA).

“Hangyo sa senior citizen, realidad mubalhin sa balay kung asa ang ilahang anak didto pud sila mubalhin, muhangyo pud mi nga muadto gyud ta sa atong Office Of Senior Citizen Affairs to update kung nagbalhin ka (A request to senior citizens, in reality, when your children transfer, you also transfer with them. We request that you go to our Office of Senior Citizen Affairs to update your records if you have moved),” she said.

“Kung asa to narehistro didto ra sya mabutang ang iyahang pangalan og didto ra niya kuhaon ang iyahang subsidy. So importante ang anak, apo, pag-umangkon, kung mubalhin man ang atong senior citizen update pud mo sa office kay para pud ma change pud sa system kay pag sunod payout didto gyud mo sa lugar kung asa mo (Wherever the senior citizen is registered, it is there where their names are listed, and that is also where they can claim their subsidy. That’s why it is important for the children, grandchildren, or relatives to update the Office if our senior citizen moves to another place, so the system can be updated. This way, during the next payout, they can receive it in the area where they are currently living),” she said.

Dayaday added that their office, together with OSCA, the City Information Technology Center and the City Civil Registar is ensuring that the system reflect the actual data and actual number of beneficiaries for the subsidy.

She said that they are in the process of cleaning the data for the incoming 2025 Senior Citizen Financial Assistance Payout.

Dayaday said that their office, in partnership with OSCA, continues its efforts to clean and update its records to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive assistance. During the data cleaning process, some duplicate names were discovered, which were immediately addressed and properly recorded in the OSCA, being the official custodian of senior citizens’ data.

She said that the data cleanup in Baguio District is nearly complete and they only needed a few days to finish it. They target Baguio District to be the first to benefit from the 2025 Annual Financial Assistance. CIO
