With the city’s most awaited civic-military parade set to unfold, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) has finalized its security plan with the deployment of more than 3,500 personnel to guarantee a safe and seamless Parada Dabawenyo 2026.

Angel Sumagaysay, Head of the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) shared during the ISpeak Media Forum on Thursday, that the deployment plan is fully integrated and ready to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.

“Naka prepare na kami, actually ang deployment naayos na namo and more or less mga 3, 500, integrated na siya. Considering kini nga aside sa parade, kay pagka gabii naa ta konsierto so tuloy tuloy ang deployment. Sumagaysay added that the deployment covers not only the parade but also the Konsierto Dabawenyo on San Pedro Square, with adjustments ready to accommodate high-profile guests.

Security forces will blanket the parade routes and spectator zones to guarantee zero incidents during the festivities.

He further assured that the city remains free of threats, and that the security cluster is prepared to welcome visitors.

Sumagaysay emphasized that the parade is a high-security event, and as such, wearing of jackets, laser lights and sharp objects are prohibited during the event.

“Usa gyud na siya sa atong gina propagate ang pag adapt, pag embrace ng culture of security. Kung makita ninyo, we are not focusing sa terrorism, but we include even atoang insurgency ug ang kriminality aning culture of security (That is one of the things we are propagating, the adaptation and embracing the culture of security. The PSSO urged Dabawenyos to remain vigilant and continue practicing the culture of security, a long-standing practice that has made Davao City a model for proactive safety measures. CIO
