The Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) on Thursday said that they will start putting no parking signs along the Indak-Indak and Pamulak Parade routes as early as 6 pm on August 16.
The parade route will cover Roxas Avenue, C.M. Recto Ave, Bonifacio St, Pelayo St., and San Pedro St. These roads will be fully closed at 6 am on August 17, 2025.
CTTMO Head Dionisio Abude said during the I-Speak Media forum that the public should be aware of the no parking scheme to avoid inconvenience.
“Our office is implementing no parking at 6 o’clock on 16. Mag-implement nami aning mga no parking, kay kung mag sugod mi og 1 o’clock in the morning na clearing maabtan mi og start sa activity nga naa pay daghan kaayo nga sakyanan nga wala kabalo nga bawal muparking so [kining mga sakyanan nga naka-park] ato na siyang i-towing (Our office is implementing a no-parking policy at 6 am on the 16th. We will implement this no-parking rule because if we start clearing at 1 am, we might get caught up during the start of the activity with many vehicles still parked by their owners, who might be unaware that parking is prohibited. Vehicles that are parked along the parade route will be towed),” he said.
Abude urged Dabawenyos to be patient, especially with the expected traffic build-up.
He also reminded Dabawenyos to plan their route or destination on Sunday.
“Since kita sa Davao dili na ni new, dili na ni bag-o nga activity sa atoa kay for how many years na nato ginabuhat, aware nata nga naa’y activity sa Pamulak ug Indak indak so naa gyud ta’y pagbuild up sa mga sakyanan. Ang bisita nato outside Davao City reminders lang na unang una magbaon ta og sakto nga pasensya. Dapat i-plano gyud nato kabalo naman ta nga naa’y activity this coming Sunday, 17 up to morning sa august 18. Sa tanan kalsada [apil] ang San Pedro Square naghatag gyud ta og plano asa ta mangadto (This is nothing new for us here in Davao. This is not a new activity, we have been doing this for years. We are already aware that there will be the Pamulak and Indak-Indak activities, so there will definitely be a buildup of vehicles, especially with visitors coming from outside Davao City. This is just a reminder: first of all, we should bring a lot of patience. We should really plan ahead, since we already know that there will be activities this coming Sunday August 17 and August 18. For all the roads that lead to San Pedro Square, we have provided a plan which roads can be passed through), ” he said.
Abude said that they have prepared more than 100 traffic personnel for the Indak-Indak. For the whole Kadayawan activities, including the accredited events, a total of 496 personnel will be deployed.
