A total of 8,500 security personnel will be deployed to ensure safety and security during the month-long celebration of 89th Araw ng Dabaw.
Claire Pace, Operations Officer of the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), bared on Tuesday, during the Araw ng Dabaw Press Conference, that they are fully prepared and ready to provide security for a safe and peaceful Araw ng Dabaw celebration.
“For the celebration of Araw ng Dabaw 2026, the safety and security cluster of Davao City, spearheaded by the Public Safety and Security Office, is fully prepared and ready to ensure the safety and security of all attendees throughout the month long celebration of Araw ng Dabaw,” she said.
She added that all official and accredited activities will have dedicated security personnel deployed to oversee operations, prioritizing the protection of performers and spectators.
“For the duration of these events, all official and accredited events, we already have dedicated safety and security cluster that will be deployed to oversee all of these activities just to ensure the safety and security of the participants as well as the attendees,” she added.
The security force includes the Davao City Police Office, the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Task Force Davao.
Among the highlights of the celebration is the return of IRONMAN 70.3 Davao on March 22, which is expected to draw athletes and visitors from around the world.
This year’s celebration will kick off on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the City Hall of Davao after the Misa Pasasalamat at San Pedro Cathedral. CIO
