The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), has extended immediate assistance to victims of separate fire incidents that broke out in the city on Tuesday and Thursday.

On October 2, 2025, the CSWDO and various city offices extended immediate assistance in the form of hot meals and psychosocial first aid (PFA) to the victims of Thursday’s fire incident in Barangay 21-C.

The affected families are currently staying at the Barangay 21-C and Barangay 22-C gymnasiums and were also provided modulary tents, sleeping kits, and food and non-food packs.

The City Health Office (CHO) also set up stations to assist wounded individuals and provide free medical services.

Gina Molon, CSWDO Población B Head, told Madayaw that an estimated 800 families and individuals were affected by the fire.

As of Friday, the Direct Service Implementers (DSI) of the City Población B District continues to validate the profile of the families and continues their assessment to ensure that they will be given assistance according to their needs.

Molon said that once finalized, the validated number will be the basis of the delivery of welfare goods and financial assistance.

On September 30, 2025, a fire incident in Spring Valley, Buhangin also received immediate broke out and the victims got immediate assistance from the CSWDO and other agencies.

The CSWDO also provided psychosocial first aid, as well as food and non-food items.

The local barangay supplemented the effort by offering medical assistance and organizing community cooking initiatives to ensure that the affected residents have hot meals. The Vice Mayor’s Office also provided food packs for the victims.

The incident affected a total of 27 individuals from six families and two borders, with a total of two totally damaged houses while four others sustained slight damages. CIO
