The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is consolidating and validating reports on earthquake-affected families who may qualify for shelter assistance.
CSWDO Head Joy Dayaday, in a recent interview, said that after Monday’s earthquake, direct service implementers started the validation and assessment.
“Naa ta’y affected nga mga balay na pipila. Further mag assess ang atong CSWDO in charge didto nga area and after the assessment mag recommend sila for assistance may it be financial or kadto atong welfare goods (We have few affected houses. The CSWDO conducts further assessment and after that, it will recommend assistance, may it be financial or welfare goods),” Dayaday said.
Based on CSWDO partial and unofficial data as of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, there were 13 affected families in the city.
Four of them are from Purok 3 Barangay Riverside Calinan, Davao City, two from Purok 7, Kawayan Sanctuary Barangay 8-A, Davao City, and seven from Purok San Antonio Barangay Leon Garcia, Davao City.
The partial and unofficial data is still subject for further validation. CSWDO continues assessment and is still consolidating reports.
Dayaday said that the city has guidelines for the release of shelter assistance for validated beneficiaries.
“We have [assistance for] totally damaged and partially damaged
we will provide whatever we can give them,” Dayaday said.
She added that the amount to be received by the households with totally damaged houses per family shall be Php 20,000, and Php 15,000 for partially damaged.
Meanwhile, the CSWDO also provides immediate food assistance to affected families as needed based on assessment. CIO Written by: K.Cañedo Edited by: A.Nawal
