The City Government of Davao was hailed as the regional winner for exemplary programs for children and older persons sector.

The City, represented by Vice Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II and City Social Welfare and Development Office Officer-In-Charge Julie P. Dayaday, received at Ritz Hotel on Friday the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD XI) Panata ko sa Bayan Gawad Serbisyong Mahusay Regional Winner award for children sector and older persons sector.

This recognition, according to DSWD XI, is for the CSWDO for its best implementation of social welfare programs and services for children sector and older persons.

According to DSWD XI, the Gawad Serbisyong Mahusay is given to local government units (LGUs) with highest rating generated for best implementation of good practice, compliance on social welfare and development laws, submission of social protection development reports, and LGUs Annual Investment Plan incorporating the Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWI) programs and services.

It highlights excellence accountability and innovation in providing responsive community services.

The DSWD, through this award, aims to promote and encourage continued improvement and inspires other LGUS to adapt best practices and elevate the quality of life and social welfare services. CIO
