The City Government of Davao, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), extended a total of P 6.6 million-worth of financial assistance to earthquake-hit Cebu and Davao Oriental.

On November 13–14, 2025, Ret. Col. Alfredo Baloran, Head of the CDRRMO, personally delivered a total of P 3.9 million in cash assistance to the local government units of Cebu.

The Provincial Government of Cebu received a total of P 1 million financial assistance, while Bogo City received P 500,000. The municipalities of Medellin, Daanbantayan, Tabogon, Madridejos, Sogod, Tabuelan, San Remigio, and Borbo received P 300,000 each.

Food and non-food items were also distributed following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu on September 30.

A different batch of food and non-food assistance was also distributed on November 13–14, 2025 in Cebu for the victims of typhoons Tino and Uwan.

Meanwhile, Baloran also personally delivered a total of P 2.7 million in financial assistance to local government units affected by the twin earthquakes in Davao Oriental on November 5–6.

On October 10, Davao Oriental was hit by a destructive magnitude 7.6 and 6.8 earthquakes that caused severe damages and displaced hundreds of its residents.

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental received P1 million in cash assistance, while Mati City received P 500,000. The Municipalities of Tarragona, Caraga, Manay, and Baganga each received P 300,000 in financial aid.

Baloran, in an interview with the Madayaw Program over city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, urged the public to take earthquake drills and flood drills seriously as these could help prepare them when disasters like earthquakes and heavy flooding occur.

“Kinahanglan g’yud nga atoang seryosohon ang atoang exercises kanang earthquake drills ug flood drills and maminaw g’yud sila sa advisories nga og naa’y ipatuman nga preemptive [evacuation] adto g’yud ta sa safe areas (We have to take earthquake and flood drills seriously, and follow advisories on preemptive evacuation),” Baloran said.
