The Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program has served more than 150,000 clients in 2025, with medicine assistance receiving the highest share, an official said.

Lingap Para sa Mahirap Social Worker Geraldine Reyes, in an interview during the Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program on Wednesday, said that the program – under the Davao City Mayor’s Office – catered to a total of 159,241 clients.

“For the whole year 2025, from January 1 to December 31 sa main office og satellite naka-cater ta sa public assistance og 118,009 clients, for private – for both the main and satellite 41,232. Nakahatag ta og nakatabang ta og 159,241 clients from January to December sa main and satellite office in total (For the whole year 2025, from January 1 to December 31, the main office and satellite offices catered to 118,009 clients for public assistance, while 41,232 clients were served for private transactions in both the main and satellite offices. Overall, from January to December, a total of 159,241 clients were assisted and served in the main and satellite offices),” she said.

Reyes added that medicine assistance under public assistance received the biggest share.

“Sa public assistance ang pinakadako dira is ang medicine, for the whole year 2025 sa public assistance ka-cater ta og 101,977 sa medicine lang na siya. Ingon ana ang main nga ginaduol diri sa amoa is maintenance gyud, mga tambal pud nga mga para sa animal bite, mao gyud na kasagran ang everyday nga lain-lain nga client nga gina cater (For public assistance, medicine recorded the highest number. For the whole year 2025, under public assistance, we catered to a total of 101,977 clients for medicine alone. This is the main concern addressed by the office—mostly maintenance medicines and medicines for animal bites, which are the usual needs of the various clients we cater to every day),” she said.

Reyes said that those who will process medicine assistance under Lingap in 2026 are required to submit documents dated 2026.

“Kay 2026 naman ta karon, dili nami mag-cater og 2025 documents, for example ilahang reseta, kung wala sila ka process sa December karon silang January 2026 nag-process. Gina-inform namo sila nga pabag-ohon ang reseta. Same process lang gihapon once naa na ang reseta 2026 pa-presyohan sa atong tulo ka accredited Botika- Murang Gamot, New Botika Concepcion, and Kalingap Pharmacy (Because it is already 2026, we will no longer cater to 2025 documents. For example, if their prescription was not processed in December and they are processing it now in January 2026, we are informing them that the prescription must be updated. The process remains the same. Once a 2026 prescription is presented, it will be priced at our three accredited pharmacies: Botika Murang Gamot, New Botika Concepcion, and Kalingap Pharmacy),” she added.

She also said that the same requirement applies to all documents attached for requirements across all services.

Clients whose prescriptions are issued by private clinics or hospitals may present their prescriptions to the nearest CHO branches for conversion.

“Ang amoa lang na matama ang requirements para dili magbalik-balik ang atong clients (Our only goal is to ensure that the requirements are complete so our clients will not have to keep coming back),” she said.

Reyes said that the main requirements for clients to be catered to by Lingap are valid IDs and a Davao City address.
