The City Government of Davao, through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO), is conducting tryouts for Davao City athletes who will represent the city in the national and international games for this year.
“Medyo strict tayo doon sa guidelines or yung competency ng athletes natin representing Davao City (We are quite strict with the guidelines or the competency of our athletes representing Davao City),” Nestor Navarro, Batang Pinoy focal person of the Sports Development Division–City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO) said during the I-Speak Media Forum Thursday.
He said that they finished the tryouts for various sporting events for the Batang Pinoy and Brunei Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines-East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Games 2026.
The remaining scheduled tryouts are posted on the official page of the SDD-CMO.
Navarro said that the tryouts had free of charge pre-registration for athletes interested to join.
These tryouts are part of the city’s preparation for the BIMP EAGA 2026 is set on November 23-27 in Malaysia.
Last year, Davao City was the overall winner of the BIMP EAGA and Northern Territory (NT) Friendship Games. CIO
