Delivering a spectacular finale to the vibrant Duaw Davao festivities, the 1st Duaw Davao Cheerdance Competition concluded on June 28, 2026, at the Davao City Recreation Center with dazzling performances from 15 teams vying for the coveted grand champion title.
City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, in a message read by Acting Head of the City Information Office (CIO) Harvey James C. Lanticse, commended the athletes for their talent and passion, reminding them of the deeper purpose beyond the competition.
“To all our participants, Daghan salamat and we wish you all the best. May this be a welcome avenue for all of you to pour your passion, creativity and dedication through cheer dancing,” he said.
“But, remember that your pursuit for excellence must also come with upholding the values of sportsmanship, integrity and friendship that more than the competition, it is most important to show respect, fairness and humility. Let us continue to support our athletes as they compete and inspire them to further pursue their athletic aspirations,” Duterte furthered.
