The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (CDRRMO) has raised the Alert Level Status to Blue for the duration of the Kadayawan Festival 2026, from August 1 to 31, 2026, to heighten preparedness and ensure public safety and timely delivery of emergency response services.
The measure is anchored on SP Resolution No. 02395-24, otherwise known as “A Resolution Adopting the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines”.
With large crowds anticipated, the Blue alert status is intended to heighten preparedness and protect Dabawenyos and visitors as they gather in city’s cultural and recreational events throughout the Kadayawan Festival.
“Daghan ta og mga events karon and naay mga events nga gina conduct in other areas sa mga barangays naay mga events in relation to Kadayawan Festivals. Dapat gyud ialert nato ang atoang mga responders. The raising of the blue alert is meaning to say, gi upgrade namo ang amoang alertness into blue alert status (We have many events right now, and there are events being conducted in other areas of the barangays related to the Kadayawan Festivals. We need to alert our responders. The raising of the blue alert means to say, we have upgraded our alertness to blue alert status),” Ret. PLt.Col. Alfredo Baloran, Head of the CDRRMO, said.
He added that raising the alert status reinforces the mobilization of emergency resources, augmentation of personnel and activation of response capabilities to support a safe and secure celebration.
Meanwhile, the CDRRMO Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be formally activated on August 16, 2026 to oversee the real-time monitoring and ensure the swift deployment of response units and implementation of safety protocols throughout the festival.
All Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMC), DRRM Councils, and volunteer groups have also been directed to remain on standby, preposition equipment and supplies, and submit situational reports to the Operations Center for consolidated monitoring and coordinated response.

Mag-amping ta kanunay ug dapat maminaw pod mo sa mga advisories on kining weather disturbances kay para ma kabalo sila kung naa bay ulan, init para maka ready pod mo (Dabawenyos, especially the participants, audience and spectators of any events, we just want to remind you to always be in their presence of mind. Our priority here is your safety. Let’s always be careful and you should also listen to our advisories on these weather disturbances so that you know if there will be rain or heat, so you can be ready),” Baloran said. CIO
