Filmmakers across Mindanao are invited to join the Salida Kadayawan, a film competition showcasing locally produced short films that celebrate the stories, culture, and creative expression of Davao.
Salida Kadayawan is part of the official Kadayawan events that is open to all Mindanawon filmmakers, film enthusiasts, students, independent creators, and media professionals for free, with no registration fee required.
Interested participants from Davao City must submit a barangay certificate, while participants from outside the city are required to submit an endorsement letter from their school or local government unit.
The film entries must be an original inspired by the Kadayawan Festival and its theme: “We are One, KadayaOne.”
Each entry must present a compelling and original storyline that reflects the spirit of unity, cultural diversity, and shared identity among the people of Davao in celebrating the Kadayawan Festival.
As part of the registration process, participants must submit a storyline or synopsis of their proposed short film with a maximum of 200 words.

All entries must also be conceptualized, recorded, and produced only from July 5 to August 5, 2026.
Participants must also create and submit an official poster along with their video entry.
Participants must also abide by copyright laws, and must acquire all necessary permissions, releases, and clearances from all organizations, individuals, or property owners appearing in the films. The competition also prohibits the use of AI in all submissions to honor human artistry.
