This year’s Parada Dabawenyo, a marching parade, will honor the contributions and collaboration between the city government, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), civic associations, People’s Organizations (POs), and other private sectors that have contributed to Davao City’s growth.

“This year, nagfocus ta on making our Parada Dabawenyo a civic marching parade. What makes this different in the previous years is that this year, it’s less entertainment and mas focus ta on the people (This year, we focused on making the Parada Dabawenyo a civic marching parade. This is different from the previous year since this time, there will be less entertainment as we focus more on the people),” Willenito P. Tormis, Officer-in-Charge of the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), told the City Information Office.

“Gusto nato mas i-showcase ang nagkalain-laing tao. It’s a marching parade, and we want it to be na makita nato na disiplinado ta nga mga Dabawenyo (We want to showcase the different people [who helped the city grow], and since it is a marching parade, this will also highlight the Dabawenyos’ culture of discipline),” he added.

Tormis also said during the Araw ng Dabaw Media Launch that they have expected around 600 people to participate in the parade.

In a social media post earlier this month, the CTOO invited all civic, NGOs, Pos, private companies, schools and universities, government institutions, and barangay units to join the 89th Araw ng Dabaw-Parada Dabawenyo on March 28, 2026.

Interested participants must either (1) register online on the Araw ng Dabaw Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/Arawngdabawofficial) or (2) get a copy of the official parade entry form at the CTOO. All completed entry forms must be submitted on or before March 14, 2026, via online registration (https://tinyurl.com/ParadaDabawenyo2026).

The guidelines and mechanics of the event are also posted on the official Facebook Page of Araw ng Dabaw.

Dabawenyos are also invited to witness the event and take part in a march of pride, unity, and community as the city celebrates Araw ng Dabaw 2026. CIO
