The winners of the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan and Pamulak sa Kadayawan festivals celebrated Davao City’s rich cultural diversity and bountiful harvest through vibrant performances and dazzling floats.
Their entries honored the traditions of ethnolinguistic groups and transformed the streets into a kaleidoscope of colors, showcasing both heritage and the brilliance of local blooms.
With a performance that spoke of love, which transcends differences, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School’s (DRANHS) Mana Performing Arts Ensemble bagged the first place for the Davao City School-Based Category in the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan.
DRANHS is entitled to a cash prize of P1 million and a plaque. All 150 of its performers also received medals.
The ensemble swept multiple awards, including Best in Artistic Design, Best in Music, Best in Choreography, and Pocari Sweat’s Best in Street Dance, with each accolade coming with a P50,000 cash prize and a plaque.
Davao City National High School’s (DCNHS) Sining Sayon Dawet Cultural Ensemble won second with a cash prize worth P500,000 and a plaque.
Their performance was a vibrant tribute to the skill and artistry of baluy weavers, showcasing intricate craftsmanship through movement and color.
Meanwhile, Mati City’s Balangay City High Performing Arts bagged the grand prize for the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan’s Open Category, with a cash prize of P1 million and plaque. All 150 of its performers also received medals.
Balangay’s performance brought to life the legend of the sleeping dinosaur, weaving myth and movement into a captivating spectacle.
Sindac Anib Performing Ensemble of Bislig City won second place in the Open Category, with cash prize worth P500,000 and plaque.
With every rhythmic step and vibrant flourish, the ensemble transformed their performance into a moving call to action: a harmonious fusion of artistic expression and environmental advocacy.
For the Pamulak sa Kadayawan, Alorica Davao won the first place for the Gamay Category with a float that celebrates Dabawenyo culture with vibrant floral arrangements and symbolic figures.
The contingent is entitled to a cash prize worth P500,000 and a trophy.
FRP Composite Arts Works won second, while “In Full Bloom of Abundance” won third.
For the Dako Category, IPI’s float bagged the first place with a cash prize of P800,000 and a trophy.
Its float embodied the company’s mission: “Your wellness, our passion.” It also celebrates Mindanao’s diverse culture, biodiversity, and their commitment to health, wellness, skincare, and compassionate service.
“The Great Harvest and Culture” won second, while Sunsilk ranked third.
This year’s Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan and Pamulak sa Kadayawan transcended mere competition. Each performance and float stood as a vibrant declaration of Davao’s spirit—proof that here, culture pulses with life, diversity flourishes, and every form of abundance deserves celebration. CIO
