The stage is set, and the spotlight is waiting as the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) opened the online applications for the Reyna ng Davao 2026 on May 1 to all trangender women in the city.
To join, interested candidates must submit an online application through the QR code or the link provided on the Reyna ng Davao Facebook page https://tinyurl.com/ReynaNgDavao2026.
Candidates must submit a duly filled-out application form, colored photos (one whole body and one 3R closed-up photo), proof of at least one year of residency, a copy of any valid government ID indicating Davao City as the address, and a photocopy of PSA authenticated birth certificate.
The deadline for the online submission is on May 15, while the screening is set on May 18.
All applicants are required to wear a corporate jumpsuit attire that is not too revealing during the screening. An orientation, workshop, photoshoot, and CSR activities for the Top 20 are also set leading to the Grand Coronation.
Willenito P. Tormis Jr., Officer-in-Charge of the CTOO, said, in an interview with the City Information Office, that there are no major changes in this year’s Reyna ng Davao qualification and mechanics.
“For Reyna ng Davao 2026, wala ta’y major changes in terms of guidelines and mechanics. Almost the same lang siya as last year. Ang major changes lang nato is ang competition format and the segments during the coronation night (There are no major changes in terms of guidelines and mechanics for Reyna ng Davao 2026. The only changes are with the competition format and the segments during the Coronation Night),” he said.
He also said that the theme for this year’s Reyna ng Davao is “Visible in Every Voice,” which is a call to action for the LGBTQIA++ community, shifting the focus from being seen to being heard.
“Ang Visible in Every Voice because although we know nga ang atoang LGBTQIA+ community is naa man gyud na sila’y mga tingog, but naay tendency na dili sila paminawon, naa’y mga tao nga ginaneglect ang rights or ang voices sa community (Our theme is “Visible in Every Voice” because although we know that our LGBTQIA++ community has strong and powerful voices, there are still instances when society tends to ignore their voice and neglect their rights),” Tormis said.
“We want our Reynas this year nga kaning mga tingog nila paminawon ug dunggon. Wala ang mga Reynas diri para makita, naa sila diri para paminawon. Kana ang gusto namo iemphasize. We want them to be seen and to be heard because yes ginacelebrate nato ang diversity diri sa city ang atoang ginapush na karon nga we want nga ang kada tingog mas paminawon, mas makit-an, mas visible (We want our Reynas this year to have their voices heard. Our Reynas are not here to be seen alone, they are here to be heard. This is what we want to emphasize. We want them to be seen and to be heard because even when we celebrate diversity in the city, we are still striving to ensure that every voice is heard, seen, and visible),” he added.
