The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) officially released a traffic advisory to manage the expected influx of cemetery goers for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Ret. P/Col. Dionisio Abude head of the CTTMO said during the ISpeak Media Forum on Thursday, October 30, 2025, that Dabawenyos should conduct thorough vehicle checks before heading to cemeteries to avoid mechanical failure that could worsen congestion along routes.

“Kung muadto gyud ta sa atoang mga minahal sa kinabuhi, niya magdala ta og sakyanan huna hunaon sa nato ang kondisyon nga dili gyud siya mag overheat, dili siya madaot, dili siya mag aberya kay og naa nata sa linya niya diraa pata madaotan, musamot ang ka problema (If we wanted to go to our loved ones, and we will bring a vehicle, we need to check it first to avoid overheating, especially if you are already in the queues and you encounter a mechanical failure it could be a problem),” he said.

At the Buhangin Memorial Park, one way vehicular traffic along the stretch of Cabantian road from Buhangin Milan to Corner Mamay road will be implemented. No entry along Cabantian-Jehovah road towards Buhangin Memorial Park instead vehicles may utilize Mamay Ext., right turn to C.P Garcia Highway, right turn to Buhangin road.

For the Chinese cemetery, all vehicles coming from Bacaca road may use J.P Laurel Ave, right turn to Gahol street, and right turn to Sarenas street. There is also a one way vehicular traffic along Sarenas road from Corner Gahol street to Corner Bacaca road.

At the Davao Memorial Park, no left turn for vehicles coming out from the cemetery instead take right and use Quimpo Boulevard. Trucks traveling from north to south will not be allowed to enter instead, use C.P. Garcia Highway or Quimpo Boulevard. Buses from Ma-a Road must utilize McArthur Highway-Sandawa-Quimpo Boulevard.

Meanwhile, for the San Pedro, Forest Lake, Orchard, Masonic, Wireless and Catholic Cemeteries, motorists will follow a one way traffic from Fr. Selga St. (Cor. F. Torres) to Circumferential Rd. (Sarenas St.), Corner Jade St. There will be regulated no entry from Fr. Selga St., Corner Circumferential road going to Catholic Cemetery.

No parking zones will be strictly enforced fronting the vicinity of Buhangin Memorial Park along Cabantian road, vicinity of Chinese Cemetery (Circumferential road) and fronting vicinity of all cemeteries along the Circumferential road.

Abude said that a total of 737 personnel will be deployed for Oplan Kalag-Kalag, 176 on October 30 and 31; 281 on November 1, and 280 on November 2, 2025.

The CTTMO is also encouraging Dabawenyos to visit cemeteries ahead of the peak dates to ease congestions. CIO
