The 10 new 12-meter-long low entry buses procured by the City Government of Davao for the Davao Interim Bus Service Program or the DC Bus arrived on October 14 at its depot in the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT).

These buses have access ramps for Persons with Disability (PWDs), and are equipped with CCTV cameras and an intelligent bus fleet system controlled by the DC bus garage.

Set to operate by mid-November, the DC bus will serve as an interim solution to the city’s transportation problems providing Dabawenyos with free transportation during peak hours.

“This will just be an interim solution for the people of Davao while we are waiting for the national government to fully implement the Davao Bus project,” Atty. Tristan Dwight P. Domingo, Project Manager of the Davao Bus Project, said.

These will complement the existing Peak Hours Augmentation Bus Services (PHABS) and Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs), serving as sweeper transport services during peak hours.

Domingo also said that the buses will have dedicated bus stops in pre-determined areas.

The DC Bus routes will be announced in the coming days, subject to the approval of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). CIO
