In a bid to further improve mobility in the city and mitigate transportation problems, the City Government of Davao procured additional 20 bus units on top of the existing 10 units of the DC Bus fleet.

These additional units are electric-powered, which is a significant step of the city government towards a more sustainable transport system while also promoting environmental conservation by reducing fuel emissions.

Harvey Lanticse, Acting Head of the City Information, confirmed in an interview that Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte has ordered the procurement of these electric-powered bus units to expand the DC Bus fleet.

“The City Government is currently undertaking the procurement process for these units, including the necessary charging stations, depot facilities, and garage infrastructure. We expect the new electric buses to be delivered by December this year,” he said.

He also assured the public that the city government is pushing its efforts in pursuing reliable, safe, and comfortable public transport services for Dabawenyos.

“The City Government remains committed to modernizing the city’s public transportation system. We will continue to pursue reliable, safe, and comfortable public transport services for every Dabawenyo,” Lanticse said. CIO
