The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has filed charges before the Office of the City Prosecutor against eight suspects involved in the robbery hold-up incident in Buhangin.

In a briefer posted on its official Facebook page, DCPO City Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria revealed that on May 8, the DCPO filed the criminal case for Robbery with the Use of Firearm against the at-large suspects in the robbery hold-up that occurred inside a mall in Buhangin on April 11.

DCPO spokesperson Police Captain Hazel Caballero Tuazon, in an interview with the City Information Office, said that on May 9, one of the suspects—identified as alias “Dadang”—was apprehended at the Molave Bus Terminal in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

“One of these suspects, alias Dadang, na-arrest siya on May 9 sa Zamboanga del Sur. Kini si alias Dadang nga apil sa robbery sa Buhangin, apil pud ni siya sa robbery hold-up diri sa Illustre last year (One of these suspects, alias Dadang, was arrested on May 9 in Zamboanga del Sur. Alias Dadang, who was involved in the Buhangin robbery, was also involved in a robbery hold-up in Illustre last year),” she said.

Tuazon said that while the case is already filed, the DCPO continues to conduct further investigations to determine whether other individuals are involved in the incident.

“Bisan pa’g nafile na ang kaso sa walo ka identified suspects sa robbery hold-up sa sulod sa mall sa Buhangin, ongoing pa gihapon ang pag conduct og investigation ana karon sa atoang Davao City Police Office bisan pa og nafile na ang kaso sa korte kay basin naa’y lai’ng individuals nga involved sa robbery hold-up (Even though the case against the eight identified suspects in the robbery hold-up inside the Buhangin mall has been filed, the Davao City Police Office is still conducting an ongoing investigation in case there are other individuals involved in the robbery hold-up),” she said.

She further urged the public to cooperate with the investigation and, should there be more relevant information regarding the eight suspects, to share it with the DCPO.

“With regards sa robbery incident nga nahitabo sulod sa isa ka mall, kung kinsa man ‘tong naa pa’y mga information sa mga individuals involved atong robbery incident kung pwede tabangan lang ang atoang Davao City Police Office para mas mapalig-on pa ang kaso nga atoang nafile sa korte (With regard to the robbery incident that occurred inside a mall, if anyone has additional information about the individuals involved, please help the Davao City Police Office so that we can further strengthen the case we have filed in court),” Tuazon said.
