The City Government of Davao recorded a decrease in its fuel and electricity consumption in April following the adoption of energy efficiency and conservation measures for city government offices.
Based on a City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) comparative report, the city government’s fuel consumption for the month of April is less than its March consumption by 21.49 percent.
The city government’s electric bill also decreased by 5.03 percent in April compared to its bill in March.
It can be recalled that the City Government of Davao created the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emergency Socioeconomic Crisis Response (IATF-CRISIS) in April to efficiently prepare and manage the city’s response actions and resources in addressing the impacts of the ongoing emergency socioeconomic crisis affecting the community. This is also to ensure continuous delivery of services to the public.
The task force adopted three resolutions including one adopting the CPDO’s recommendations on energy efficiency and conservation measures for offices of the City Government of Davao, and a resolution urging city government offices to reduce fuel consumption.
The IATF said that the decrease in fuel consumption and electric bill of offices of the city government is a welcome development. They also expressed their gratitude to the employees of the City Government of Davao for their support and dedication to serve the Dabawenyos.
Dabawenyos are also assured that the City Government of Davao will continue to look into more ways that can mitigate the effects of the crisis in the city. CIO
